Conclusion

Let me now discuss the main limitations of our study.

 

As we all know, childbirth typically follows a timeline of about one year from conception to delivery. This means that the impact of any fertility policy would logically require at least a year to become fully visible in the data.

 

Previous studies have addressed this by using lagged policy variables. However, in our case, the i-Dream policy was introduced in 2024, and we currently only have outcome data for that same year. Because of this, we couldn't apply a lag structure and had to analyze outcomes from the same year the policy was implemented. 

 

To address this, we plan to continue tracking the data in the coming years to observe how the policy's effects evolve over time.

To conclude, let me highlight the key implications of our study.

 

We examined the impact of Incheon’s i-Dream program on fertility outcomes. Using spatial and temporal variation—along with a range of control variables—we identified causal effects through the Synthetic Difference-in-Differences framework.

 

Our findings show that in 2024, the policy increased Incheon’s total fertility rate by 5% and the number of births by 8%.

 

The findings may serve as a valuable guide for designing more effective, evidence-based fertility policies moving forward.

어지간하면 암기해서 발표하는 편인데.. 아무래도 이건 도저히 불가다. script 보면서 발표해야 할 듯.
